LED ... LIGHT THERAPY
What is LED light Therapy ?
Do the different colours mean different things ?
What is it good for ?
LED or Light Emitting Diode ..
LED therapy is a non-invasive skin treatment that uses different wavelengths of light to target specific skin concerns. It works by penetrating the skin at varying depths to stimulate cellular activity, promote healing and enhance overall skin health. Originally developed by NASA for wound healing, LED therapy is now widely used in aesthetic treatments to boost collagen, reduce inflammation and improve skin texture. LED works through photo-bio-modulation, where specific wavelengths of light stimulate cellular processes. Light energy is then absorbed by the mitochnondria ( the powerhouse of the cell) increasing the ATP which is the fuel of a cell and this leads to faster repair, regeneration and collagen synthesis. So you have decreased inflammation, faster healing, and improved skin function over time.
Different Colours of LED respond in a different way.

Red Light
-
Stimlulates Collagen & elastin production
-
reducing fine lines and wrinkles
-
Increases circulation, promoting cell repair and renewal
-
Speeds up wound healing and reduces inflammation, making it ideal post-treatment
BLUE LIGHT
-
Kills acne-causing bacteria (P.acne) , reducing breakouts and preventing new ones.
-
regulates sebaceous (oil) gland activity, helping with oily skin
-
soothes inflammation and calms irritated skin
GREEN LIGHT
-
Targets melanin production, helping to fade hyperpigmentation, sunspot and redness.
-
reduces skin redness and evens out skin tone
NEAR-INFARED LIGHT
-
Penetrates the deepest to reduce inflammation and promote deep tissue healing
-
Ideal for post procedure recovery and chronic skin conditions
