Accommodation: Should a Tourist Stay at the Casino Hotel or Follow the "Local" Approach of Staying Somewhere Cheaper?

I'm planning a trip to a gaming hub soon and I'm stuck on the lodging part. I really love the idea of just taking an elevator down and being right in the middle of the action, but the prices for a room at the resort are double what I’d pay for a decent hotel just a ten-minute Uber ride away. Part of me thinks the "local" way—staying off-site and just coming in to play—might be smarter so I have more cash for the tables, but I don't want to kill the vacation vibe. Has anyone tried staying further out to save money, or does the commute just ruin the fun?

It really depends on what you value more: the convenience or your bankroll. I used to stay right on the strip because I loved the "bubble," but lately, I’ve been trying to act more like a regular and staying at a budget place nearby. It’s funny because you realize that the money you save on a room can actually fund a whole extra night of play. I was checking out some tips on https://bdgovt.info/the-casino-tourist-vs-the-casino-local/ and it’s interesting how it highlights that locals don't get sucked into the high-priced resort lifestyle because they already have their own home base nearby. If you’re okay with not having a view of the fountain from your window, staying off-site is a great way to keep your expenses low and play with the "house money" you saved on the room.
